If I wanted to print old comic books, including the covers, What's the cheapest way to print them?
Buyin' them would be much more expensive since they are from the 60/70's, I've got them all as cbr files.

I would suggest a colour laser printer. Depending on how many you want to print of each comic, you might make just one hard copy of each and then use a colour photocopier to do the balance in bulk.

Are they still under copyright? You will need the author's permission if you want multiple copies.

I love reading comics, graphic novels especially. I know a good number of people at school that read books or poetry, but whenever I try to recommend a graphic novel, lets say, Watchmen for example, they automatically dub it as dumb because it’s a comic book.

I just don’t get this. Why do some people tend to think ALL comics are only about superheroes beating up bad guys? They’re not.

Has anyone else dealt with this before?

I know what you mean and I think that the problem is that people think that comics are just for little kids, before I really started getting into them I know that I did. And it’s really a shame that people jump to this conclusion because like you said they automaticlly think that a masterpiece like watchmen is just not worth their time and they are really missing out on alot.

I'm planning to import 300 copies of comic books from the Philippines to France…… I've only computed the shipping costs…. Are there other costs involved like custom and duties, tax, etc?….

and also the shipping will be sponsored by the French embassy…. would some of the charges be free?

the receiver of goods usually pay duties and tax, depend on the value of the books, if they are free gifts then nothing.

Like the old school Superman Comic Books? Is there a site any of you know about? Not Manga sites or anything, but DC comics.

Thanks a lot!

There used to be a site with scans of a lot of 1930s and 1940s comics scans up, but I think DC made them shut it down. Other than pirated copy swapping (which is against Yahoo’s terms of service, so don’t ask for ‘em here) and excerpts like Scans Daily or superdickery.com, I don’t think there’s any free online versions of golden age DC comics right now. Or pay online, for that matter. DC’s a bit behind the times on that one.

I recently bought a box of about 50 assorted comic books at a local auction and I was wondering if there were any comics in the bunch that could be worth more than just the pleasure of reading them. Is there a website that offers free comic book appraisals?

I'm not sure if there is anyone that does free appraisals unless you want to see if a local comic store will do it.

You can try to do the appraisal yourself by using http://www.comicspriceguide.com
It doesn't cost anything to join. They have articles on how to grade the books then you can look up the potential worth.

If you think you own something valuable, I would recommend getting it professionally appraised. CGC (http://www.cgccomics.com/) can grade & preserve the comic so it will retain its value. I have no idea how much it costs to do this.

what i mean is if your a writer, annd you want too continue writing but you also want too write comic books. Can you do both at the same time?

Of course you can! Check out Neil Gaiman. He's an author and a graphic artist, and damn good at both trades.
