Millar wrote the … Millar wrote the worst Dredd stories ever, Inferno and Book of the Dead.
Affirmative on the movie lifts, he copied the walking on glass scene from Die Hard in his first story “Silo”.
Oh and you missed the worst of the worst, he took a story full of charm and wit, Sam Slade Robo Hunter and turned it into the biggest fest that 2000AD has ever seen, Millar is pretty well despised by most of 2000ad’s old fans.
Don’t know, … Don’t know, actually… It may just not make sense in their schedule to have much of a presence? If they don’t have a lot to announce or push, they may just skip right by it.
Speaking of “such … Speaking of “such promise at the beginning and then fizzling out”. Marvel is constantly releasing titles that start with a good artist/writer and then by issue #5 or 6 they switch out the writer/artist or both and screw up an often times good thing.
eg. Secret Warriors is losing Caselli on art. His art works awesome on this title and it sucks he’s not going to be attached.
Alex, do you know why DC’s presence at Wizard World Chicago hasn’t been that spectacular in many years? Dan and Geoff aren’t even going to be there this year and their booth never has much going on. Mattel better be there or I’ll be ed.
son of hulk sucked … son of hulk sucked skaar wasnt even in it. when i first saw this video i closed it right away cause i wanted to read the issue without spoilers but now i kinda wish that i watched this video first so i would know that son of hulk sucked.
The running joke … The running joke among fans of Britain’s 2000ad (where Mark Millar got his break in comics) was that every other story Millar wrote was about one big bad guy getting built up into the most evil unstoppable monster ever and everyone sitting around saying how badass he is, and then Judge Dredd would come along and beat him with one punch. That - and shameless movie lifts, like the ‘imagination battle’ in F4 that was lifted from Flight of Dragons’ finale - was pretty much his entire output.
Yeh, despite faith … Yeh, despite faith in Pak I really haven’t seen a reason to care about Hulk since the end of WWH. Unless you count Herc. Which is awesome. But honestly, let’s NOT drag down Herc into the cesspool of Hulk minutia that’s been coming out lately. Am I really wrong for wanting that connection as severed as possible?
I was disappointed … I was disappointed by the Son of Hulk issue…Skaar is gone, Sakaar is destroyed…it feels like a half-assed solution. Oh suddenly Hulk has ANOTHER son, ohhhhh…sheesh I beleive I’ll cancel this title…
cracks me up, … cracks me up, People who watch a F’n “review” show and then b!tch about the spoilers. What, from now on, just say “good book” or “bad book”? I quess that is what viewers of this ilk want.
Alex - The Johnny … Alex - The Johnny Cash of comic reviews. Drinking beer, bringing the smart wit and always, always in black (or at least very dark shirts).
Another great show guys.
Should have written … Should have written “me”, not “others” since you’re speaking for yourself. I don’t need you speaking for me, thanks.
Not to mention they list the comics they’re reviewing in the title. If there’s something there you don’t want to hear potential spoilers for, wait until you’re read the comic, then listen to the show. Easy peasy.
Great episode, guys … Great episode, guys. Daredevil is a great example of being out of continuity with the rest of the Marvel U. I can’t think of one moments where they’ve mentioned what’s been going on elsewhere - Initiative, Invasion or Dark Reign. It’s a shame Marvel won’t let more titles be more contained because I love what’s going on in Daredevil and not every title needs to be a tie-in to the major crossovers.
I completely agree … I completely agree with you guys about Millar/Hitch F4 run….what do guys think about Hickman and Eaglesham taking over?
I love Thunderbolts especially the dialogue between characters but I agree with Pete about the ending of #134…how can Natasha be in so many titles at once…she is like the new Wolverine.
It never fails, … It never fails, every time Pete cracks up, I crack up.
I heard a lot about Millar’s FF run. Considering how late he is on everything else, I didn’t see the point in picking it up. I see I was right in my umption.
A train is a … A train is a connected series of vehicles for rail transport that move along a track (permanent way) to transport freight or passengers from one place to another. The track usually consists of two rails, but might also be a monorail or maglev guideway.
