I recently bought a box of about 50 assorted comic books at a local auction and I was wondering if there were any comics in the bunch that could be worth more than just the pleasure of reading them. Is there a website that offers free comic book appraisals?
I'm not sure if there is anyone that does free appraisals unless you want to see if a local comic store will do it.
You can try to do the appraisal yourself by using http://www.comicspriceguide.com
It doesn't cost anything to join. They have articles on how to grade the books then you can look up the potential worth.
If you think you own something valuable, I would recommend getting it professionally appraised. CGC (http://www.cgccomics.com/) can grade & preserve the comic so it will retain its value. I have no idea how much it costs to do this.
